- 工房 環 が作るけん玉の材料は主に、ブラック・ウォールナット、カリン、ウルシ、ハード・メイプルの4樹種です。
The kendama made by Kobo KAN are mainly made of black walnut, Bruma Padauk(Karin),
Japanese lacquer tree(Urushi), and Hard Maple.
- サイズ Dimensions
- 工房 環 の作るけん玉の標準的なサイズは下図のとおりです。
ひとつひとつずつ手作りですので、表示サイズは ±2mm 程度の誤差があります。
The standard dimensions of Kendama made by Kobo KAN is shown below.
As each piece is handmade one by one, the indicated dimensions may vary
by about ±2mm.
- 重さ Weight
- 一般的に市販されているブナ材で作られたけん玉の玉の重さは 60～80g ですが、工房 環 の
作る玉の重さは樹種に拠ったり、またいろいろな木材を接着するので、以下のように異なります。
The weight of a Kendama ball made of Beech, which is commonly available
on the market, is 60 to 80 grams, but the weight of the balls made by Kobo
KAN varies depending on the species of wood and because various woods are
glued together, as follows.

玉以外のパーツも一般的にブナ材が使われていますが、工房 環 ではハード・メイプルをよく使います。
その重さはブナもハード・メイプルもほとんど変わりません。
Beech lumber is generally used for parts other than ball too, but hard
maple is often used at Kobo KAN.
The weight is almost the same for both Beech and Hard Maple.
- 工房 環 のけん玉 Concept
- 工房 環 は、いわゆる「競技用けん玉」を意図してけん玉を作っていません。
肌触り・重さ・音の違う、いろいろな木のけん玉を楽しんでもらいたいと思って作っています。
Kobo KAN does not make kendama with the intention of making so-called "Competition
kendama".
Kobo-Kan hope to make Kendama with different textures, weights, and sounds
so that more people can enjoy kendama!
